As the world's leading resource for manufacturing information and knowledge, the
Society of Manufacturing Engineers promotes an increased awareness of the value
of manufacturing among industry professionals and the general public, while
introducing young people to exciting career options in the field. We also
identify, support and fund improvements in the educational system to better
prepare tomorrow's engineers and scientists for the tough challenges they face.
For half a million manufacturing engineers, executives, and members in more than 70
countries around the globe, our Society is the source for knowledge, networking,
and skills development opportunities that help them advance their careers, their
companies, and their industries. Through
its member programs, publications, expositions, and professional development
resources, SME promotes an increased awareness of manufacturing engineering and
helps keep manufacturing professionals up to date on leading trends and
technologies. Headquartered in Michigan, SME influences more than half a
million manufacturing engineers and executives annually. The Society has
members in 70 countries and is supported by a network of hundreds of chapters
worldwide.
Chapter 21 of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers is based in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Chapter 21 provides a local forum to meet other
professionals doing similar jobs with similar goals and experiences
related to engineering. Our membership encompasses directors, managers,
process engineers, manufacturing engineers, trades people, and even
lawyers. The chapter organizes monthly factory tours to leading
manufacturing and engineering companies. We also organize monthly
chapter meetings and social events throughout the year. The chapter is
actively engaged in assisting you with lean certification. Finally, it
provides you with an opportunity to network and make business contacts.

Our Goal: We hope that young
people, when considering their career options, will recognize the
